H.R.H Prince Arthur, Duke of Connaught, and Canada's Governor General from 1911-1916, inspecting Alfred Soden English's company (148th Battalion, Montreal Regiment), possibly at Val Cartier Camp. As Governor General, the Duke of Connaught stressed the importance of Canada's military contributions after the outbreak of the war.
