Snapshot of five people (four men, possibly one woman or youth) in an intersection in the town of Charleroi, Belgium. In August of 1914, Chalreroi (the Battle of Charleroi, or Battle of the Sambre) was the site of one of the first battles of World War I. The the quality of the photograph is poor and there is some damage to the print at the top right corner.
