Description
Studio portrait of Private John (Johnnie) Lince. Lince was a railroad worker who joined the 110th C.M.R. in Stratford Ontario, January, 1916. He was sent to France where he was transfered to the 8th and finally the 4th Battlalion. Lince was wounded by a shell and exposed to gas poisoning between the 6 and 11 Septermber, 1917. He spent time recovering in East Sandling amd Shorncliffe camps in England before joining the 4th Bn in France at the end of October, 1918. He would return to Ontario after the war, where he died December 9, 1968.
