Description
Aerial view of Buckingham Palace, City of Westminster, London, England. The palace is the London residence of the reigning monarch of the United Kingdom, as well as their administrative headquarters. King George V held this position during the World War I. Among other changes to name and titles, he officially adopted the British-sounding House of Windsor, in place of Saxe-Coberg and Gotha, to appease the British public during the conflict. His uncle, Prince Arthur, Duke of Connaught and Strathearn, would serve as Canada's Governor General during the war.
