Photograph of Hangard, in the Somme department in Northern France illustrating the damage sustained by the village, with the church of Saint Martin in the forefront and the town hall (mairie) in the background. While the inhabitants were evacuated by late March, 1918, the village was destroyed by the Second Battle of Villiers-Bretonneux (specifically the battle of Hangar Wood) in April 1918.
