Description
Aerial shot of Veince, with landmarks such as Saint Mark's Basilica and Campanile, Doge's Palace, and Santa Maria della Salute. Between 1915 and 1918, a series of Battles took place on the Italian Front, along the North Eastern Italian border with Austria-Hungary. Trench warfare, similar to the Western front took place in the mountains in this area. By October of 1918, Austria-Hungary was disitingrating and the Allied victory at the Battle of Vittorio Veneto was the last military operation in the region.
