Description
Ocean or North Beach, north of Ari Burnu and Anzac Cove looking towards Suvla during the Gallipoli Campaign, 1915. In the foreground is No.1 Australian Stationary Hospital. This was where the ANZACs (Australian and New Zealand Army Corps) landed in April 1915, amd remained their base for the eight months of the unsuccessful campaign. After the December evcauation of wounded and equiptment, the hospital tents were left in place to decive Turkish troops.
