[Aerial photogrpah of Amiens Cathedral in Amiens, France. On August 8, 1918, the Allies launched a counter-attack known as the Battle of Amiens to push German armies out of France. Largely caught off-guard, German defenses were pushed back as much as 12km, becoming one of the most devestating defeats for Germans since the start of the war. The Battle of Amiens was a decisive military victory for the Allies and initiated the Hundred Days Offensive.]
