The accompanying description reads:

"FRENCH FLYING OFFICERS ELP L'AIDE A LA FRANCE MONTREAL FAIR
Visitors who assisted in the opening of the big fair.were a party of the French Flying Mission at Washington one of whom, Liuet. Flachaire, M.C. flew from Washington to Buffalo to Montreal with a Message to the administration of the fair. He afterwards performed battle stunts over he thousnads assembled at the fair. Photo shows official party at opening. Left to right Lieut. Dobelle, Lady Gouin, Sir Lomer Gouin, Lady Williams-Taylor, Commander Tulasne, and Lieut Flachaire, M.C. who carried the aero message from Washington."

Jane Williams-Taylor was a founding member of L’Aide à la France, the women's section of the Comité France-Amérique de Montréal, founded in October, 1914. The group raised funds for refugees displaced by the destruction of French territory during the war, and the fair on June 6, 1918, was one of their fundraising events.
