Description
Aerial photograph of the blocked ships at the entrance of the German-occupied Belgian port of Bruges-Zeebrugge in April, 1918. In an attempt to block the port from German U-boats, the Royal Navy sunk three of their old cruisers, the H.M.S. Thetis, Intrepid, and Iphigenia. The blocked ships, however, only managed to obstruct the canal for a few days.
