Aerial view of the Bapaume road, showing landmarks such as the Butte de Warlencourt (an ancient burrial mound) which was fortified and held by the Germans during the Battle of the Somme in 1916, and later captured by the British during the Second Battle of Bapaume, August 21 - September 3, 1918.
