Description
Side view of His Majesty's Land Ship (H.M.L.S.) "We're all in it" a Mark I "female" tank (with four Vickers machine guns and one .303 Hotchkiss machine gun as opposed to the "male" version with two 6 pounder guns and three Hotchkiss machine gun). As reported by British officer Major Cecil Tippetts, the tank was left near Thiepval  at the Battle of the Somme, November 13, 1916 after becoming mired in a collapsed dugout where the crew was then attacked by German forces.
